Wanda Slaughter welcomed her appointment to the EOHA Board of Commissioners with enthusiasm. During the past several months she has relished the hard work and dedication that being a Commissioner takes. Mrs. Slaughter is a resident of East Orange and became a member of the Board of Commissioners in May of 2005.

Currently, Wanda is Treasurer and serves on the following committees: Personnel, Finance, Real Estate and Redevelopment Committees. Mrs. Slaughter is a graduate of University of Pittsburgh, PA and has a B.A. in Theatre Arts and has professional affiliations with Actors Unions AEA, SAG and AFTRA. Mrs. Slaughter’s background is very diverse. She has been a Retail Professional serving as a Fit Specialist for Intimate Apparel and a Cosmetics Manager. As a former actress, Wanda Slaughter has done theatre, film and television.

She says, “I believe in giving back. I have been blessed in several ways and if I can help someone else this makes me happy. Being part of the EOHA and helping people meet their housing needs fulfills this goal.

Currently, Mrs. Slaughter works at home running her husband’s consulting business.  Mrs. Slaughter serves on many committees in the City of East Orange, including the Historical Society.
