Annual Plan:

The Housing Authority of the City of East Orange is required to submit to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development the Annual and Five Year Plan.
The goals and objectives are derived from HUD's strategic goals and objectives and those emphasized in recent legislation. Some of the goals of the EOHA is to acquire or build units or developments; apply for additional rental vouchers; leverage private of other public funds to create additional housing opportunities; improve the quality of assisted housing; improve PHAS and SEMAP scores.

Energy Performance:

Water & Energy Savings Corporation (WESCO) was contracted by the Housing Authority of the City of East Orange, New Jersey to perform a comprehensive water and energy audit on a total of 244 units distributed among several sites. WESCO personnel performed on site inspections during March 2006. The audit includes a utility history analysis to establish accurate baseline consumption and trends; a description of the existing equipment and conditions bases on the site inspections and various conservation measure analysis to determine cost effective improvements. Based on these analyses a package of conservation measures in suggested.

Under FSS Graduation:

Last year, the program produced six graduates and this year there were five graduates. The graduation was a joyous success in attendance buy several esteemed guests that included EOHA  Executive Director, several Board of Commissioner members. Diane Johnson, HUD Field Office Director and a representative from the press. The graduates were: Brenda Bailey, Patricia Gatling, Yvette Hill, Eunice Singleton and Michelle Walters. The graduates earned a total of $85,896.02 in escrow earnings collectively.

This information will become available when the housing authority advertises for qualified firms to submit proposals on upcoming projects. Most of our contracts such as legal, elevator maintenance, exterminating etc. are yearly contracts and are subject to bids.
