The Purchasing Department is a vital member of the administrative team of the East Orange Housing Authority. The Purchasing Department is responsible for the procurement of all supplies, materials, and equipment for the maintenance and general upkeep of the EOHA facilities. In conjunction with the Modernization Department, the Purchasing Department overseas and administers the process of specifying and awarding all contracts for capital improvements, repairs, and professional services to be performed under competitive bids, competitive contracts, and Requests for Proposals (RFPs).

Statement of Purpose

• To assure that supplies, services and construction are procured efficiently, effectively, and at the most favorable prices available to the EOHA
• To provide for the fair and equitable treatment of all persons or firms involved in purchasing process by the EOHA
• To promote competition in contracting
• To provide safeguards for maintaining a procurement system of quality and integrity
• To insure that the EOHA purchasing policies and actions are in full compliance with applicable Federal standards, HUD regulations, and State laws
