The Executive Office:
Deborah
Woodson, Interim Executive Director

First, I would like to give thanks to the Board of
Commissioners for having the faith and trust in me
to serve as Interim Executive Director for The
Housing Authority of the City of East Orange.
Before coming to this housing authority, I was a
legal secretary for over 13 years and have been
employed with the housing authority for ten years.
During my tenure I have held several positions
within the Management Staff; Administrative
Secretary, Executive Secretary and Chief of
Operations. I have always been intimately involved
with the day to day operations of this agency
because I had the unique opportunity of working
directly with the Executive/Interim Directors. I
paid close attention and read every piece of mail
that came across my desk.
As
Interim Executive Director, I will continue to
provide our residents with safe and sanitary housing
because affordable, decent housing is a human
right. In the coming months, I will strive to
enhance the productivity, accountability and
continue to seek HUD’s guidance and make systemic
changes as necessary to improve the performance of
this Agency.
